abstract ABSTRACT The present invention relates to new alkyl phenyl ether derivatives of the formula (I) (I) (wherein Y represents methyl radical or chlorine atom, R represents an alkyl) having from 1 to 8 carbon atoms, n is an integer of 0, 1 or 2) the compounds are manufactured by condensing, if necessary in the presence of an alkaline compound, a compound expressed by the formula (II) (II) (wherein Y and n have the same meanings as defined hereinbefore, M represents hydrogen atom or an alkali metal atom) with a compound expressed by the formula (III) X - R (III) (wherein X represents a halogen atom and R has the same meaning as defined hereinbefore). The new compounds have an acaricidal effect, and therefore, they are useful as acaricide.
