abstract | Abstract of the Disclosure Carbonylaldiminomethanephosphonate is produced by the reaction of glyoxal or glyoxylic acid esters with aminomethyl-phosphonic acid esters. The carbonylaldiminomethanephosphonates can then be reduced and hydrolyzed or reduced and oxidized to yield N-(phosphonomethyl)glycine which is useful as a post-emergent herbicide. |
