production of paraffinic fuels from renewable materials by a continuous hydrotreating process. |
abstract |
PRODUCTION OF paraffin fuels from renewable materials through a continuous hydrotreating process. The present invention relates to a hydrotreating process of a renewable source charge, such as vegetable oils, to produce paraffinic hydrocarbons in the presence of hydrogen in excess of the theoretical hydrogen consumption and hydrotreating conditions in a fixed layer reactor. having several serially arranged catalytic zones comprising a hydrotreating catalyst. The total charge flow is divided into a number of different partial flows equal to the number of catalytic zones in the reactor, the different partial flows are injected into successive catalytic zones in increasing proportions to produce an effluent comprising paraffinic. The effluent is subjected to a separation step allowing to separate a gas fraction and a liquid fraction containing paraffinic hydrocarbons. At least a part of this liquid fraction is recycled in the first catalytic zone such that the mass ratio between such recycling and the partial flow introduced in the first catalytic zone is greater than or equal to 10. |
