PROCESSES FOR THE PRODUCTION OF SUCCINIC ACID FROM FERMENTATION BRUSHES CONTAINING DIAMOND SUCCINATE. The present invention relates to processes for the production of SA from a fermentation broth containing clarified DAS or a fermentation broth containing clarified MAS that includes distillation of the broth under super atmospheric pressure at a temperature of> 100 <198> C a about 300 <198> C to form an overhead that comprises water and ammonia and a bottom that includes SA and at least about 20% by weight of water; cooling the bottom to a temperature sufficient to cause the bottom to separate into a liquid portion and a solid portion that is substantially pure SA; and separating the solid portion from the liquid portion. One method also reduces the broth distillation temperature and pressure by adding an ammonia-separating solvent and / or azeotropy in water to the broth. |
