SULPHIDE / MICROBICIDE CONTROL MIXTURES. The present invention relates to a chemical mixture that simultaneously kills bacteria and suppresses the production of hydrogen sulfide (H 2 S). Both include a first chemical which may be one of a glutaraldehyde, a tetrasilyl sulfate. hydroxymethyl phosphonium (THPS), a quaternary amine compound, a thiocyanate, a carbamate, a cinnamaldehyde, an alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride and / or a diamine diacetate, and mixtures thereof; at least one second chemical which is a quinone; optionally a third chemical, which is a phosphate compound and a solvent including monoethylene glycol. Chemical mixing has shown synergistic results to kill bacteria and / or suppress hydrogen sulfate production when compared to the addition of the results of each of the separately used mixture components. |
