abstract | PROCESS OF SYNTHESIS AND INCORPORATION OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES IN HYDROPHYLIC POLYMERIC MATRICES AND USE OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES The present patent application refers to a new process for the synthesis of a nanostructured complex of silver nanoparticles (NpAg) and chitosan (NpAg): NpAg: and its subsequent incorporation in hydrophilic polymeric matrices. The nanocomplexes are obtained in a single step by reducing their ions in aqueous solution by the combined action of citric acid and chitosan (QS). With this new synthesis route using two reducers together, it is possible to inhibit the degradation of the QS during the synthesis, reduce the synthesis time, as well as obtain NpAg with a smaller distribution and sizes with the use of mild reducers to the environment. After synthesis, the powdered nanocomposite, NpAg: QS, is obtained. This powder can be redissolved in an acidic aqueous solution together with a hydrophilic polymer, such as polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). As a final product, a plastic film with bactericidal properties is obtained, due to both the action of NpAg and QS. |
