titleOfInvention | ALPHA HIGH DISSOLUTION PULP PRODUCTION METHOD AND SYSTEM |
abstract | The present invention relates to a method for processing pulp used in a pre-hydrolysis kraft (phkp) process which includes adding wood chips or similar material to a pulp. reactor, perform prehydrolysis, and neutralize the mixture with a first amount of white bleach, and then a different solution such as a cold caustic alkaline filtrate, optionally enriched with white bleach. neutralizing fluids are replaced by a cooking fluid comprising a hot black liquor and an alkaline filtrate, optionally enriched with white bleach. The cooking fluid may have a relatively high effective alkali concentration. Cooked pulp may have a low residual hemicellulose content and a kappa number within an optimal range. |
