titleOfInvention | process for preparing a flexible polyurethane foam, and flexible polyurethane foam. |
abstract | A process for preparing a flexible polyurethane foam, and a flexible polyurethane foam, the process comprises preparing a reaction mixture of a polyisocyanate component and a polyol component comprising one or more polyester polyols formed of at least one fatty acid. dimeric acid and / or at least one dimeric fatty alcohol. In order to improve the processability of flexible polyurethane foams so that these foams can be produced with the desired hardness and mechanical properties over a wide density range, the isocyanate reactive compounds contain, per 100 parts by weight thereof, from 25 to 95 parts by weight of said polyester polyols and from 5 to 75 parts by weight of one or more polyether polyols which are free of dimeric fatty chains. thus no lipophilic filler is required so that the misting and foaming properties can be improved. In addition, softer foams can be produced without having to apply a very low core index, resulting in better mechanical properties and in particular a smaller compression fit. Finally, higher foam densities can be obtained with an isocyanate component having a lower functionality so that the hardness of these foams can be reduced. |
