abstract | recombinant DNA vector, a method for producing plants that are tolerant to environmental stresses and their uses. Plants are influenced by a large number of biotic and abiotic environmental factors and recurrently abiotic stresses are more severe, affecting all plant functions, resulting in reduced growth and productivity. In this sense, the identification and understanding of abiotic tolerance mechanisms are fundamental in the development of new drought tolerant cultivars. Thus, the present invention provides a method of plant production which contains in its cells a sequence of sugarcane nucleotides, and overexpression of that gene leads to the plant in question to greater tolerance to abiotic stresses. more broadly, a polynucleotide encoding the sugarcane protein which is expressed by a plant-working promoter and terminator is described. this gene confers tolerance to different abiotic stresses. |
