abstract | METHOD OF MANUFACTURING ANTIMICROBIAL THERMOPLASTICS BY IN SITU FORMATION OF METALLIC SILVER NANOPARTICLES, MASTERBATCHES AND/OR POLYMER ANTIMICROBIAL NANOCOMPOSITES AND THEIR USES The present invention is intended for the method of manufacturing antimicrobial thermoplastics (within the in situ formation equipment) mechanical) of nanometric particles of metallic silver during the extrusion process of at least one thermoplastic polymer combined with at least one metallo-organic precursor, chemically designed, and without the need to carry out pre-treatments (mixing/solubilization/dispersion, between others), and antimicrobial thermoplastics, preferably nanocomposites and/or silver nanoparticle masterbatches. Additionally, the present patent application refers to the use of polymeric masterbatches/nanocomposites in the preparation of thermoplastic products with antimicrobial, antifungal and/or antiviral properties. |
