Process for Producing Hydrogen This invention describes a process for producing hydrogen comprising: introducing a feed stream comprising a bio-based feed load and water into a reformer and providing heat to the reformer; contacting the feed stream with a steam reforming catalyst disposed within the reformer to form a reformate comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide; recover the retired from the reformer; contact the. steam reformed in the presence of a water-gas displacement catalyst disposed within a water-gas displacement reaction zone to form a water-gas displacement product stream comprising hydrogen, and the water-gas displacement product stream comprises more hydrogen than in the reformed one; heat the supply stream by heat exchange contact of the supply stream with a selected product stream from the retrofit, the water-gas displacement product stream or combinations thereof to transfer heat from the product stream to the supply stream before introducing the power supply into the reformer. |
