electrode sets and devices for neurocranial stimulation |
abstract |
electrode sets and devices for neurocranial stimulation and methods for performing neurocranial stimulation. the present invention relates to an electrode set for neurocranial stimulation that includes an electrode, a conductive gel and an adapter including an internal compartment for positioning the electrode in relation to the adapter and for receiving and retaining the conductive gel. the conductive gel comes into contact with the electrode along an electrodogel interface. a hole in one end of the interior compartment and adjacent to the adapter's positioning surface for positioning the electrode assembly against a user's skin surface allows the conductive gel to be able to contact the user's skin surface to establish an interface gel-skin, such that the minimum distance between the electrode-gel interface and the gel-skin interface is maintained between 0.25 cm and 1.3 cm. an electrode assembly mounting device is provided for the adjustable positioning of a variety of electrode assemblies against target positions in the skull. |
