surgical lamp and method for controlling a light output from a surgical lamp the present invention provides a surgical lamp for illuminating a surgical site. the surgical lamp includes a housing that defines an internal cavity. a light source is disposed within the internal cavity of the housing to produce a light field in a surgical location that is remote from the housing. a voltage sensitive device is arranged between the light source and the surgical site. the voltage sensitive device has light transmitting properties that change in response to a polarization voltage applied to it. control means control the polarization voltage for the voltage sensitive device. |
