recombinant peptides and protein motifs associated with chagas disease and its applications. the present invention refers to the use of the phage display technique for the identification, characterization and use of new recombinant peptides and protein motifs, which mimic antigenic regions of trypanosoma cruzi, determining functional epitopes of the parasite's proteins. the peptides were specifically immunoreactive against human igg in patients with the cardiac, digestive and indeterminate forms of the chronic phase of American trypanosomiasis and can potentially be used in more accurate and differential diagnosis for the three main forms of chronic chagas disease and in vaccine compositions for control of parasitic infection. |
