titleOfInvention POLYETHYLENE COMPOSITION
abstract polyethylene composition, process for producing a polyethylene composition, injection molded article and process for making an article. the present invention is a polyethylene composition, method of making the same, articles made therefrom, and method of making such articles. in accordance with the present invention, the polyethylene composition comprises (1) less than or equal to 100 percent by weight of units derived from ethylene; and (2) less than 15 percent by weight of units derived from one or more 15 (alpha) olefin comonomers. According to the present invention the polyethylene composition has a density in the range of 0.907 to 0.975 g/cm3 , a molecular weight distribution (mw/mn in the range of 1.70 to 3.62, a melt index (i2 ) in the range of 2 to 1000 g/l/min, a molecular weight distribution (m2,/mw) in the range of less than 2.5, and a vinyl unsaturation of less than 0.06 vinyl per thousand carbon atoms present in the backbone of the composition According to the present invention, the process for producing the polyethylene composition comprises the steps of: (1) (co)polymerizing ethylene and at least one or more (alpha) olefin comonomers in the presence of a catalyst hafnium-based metallocene via a gas phase (co)polymerization process in a single stage reactor; and (2) thereby producing the inventive polyethylene composition having a density in the range of 0.907 to 0.975 g/cm3, a distribution of molecular weight & 30 (m,jmj in the range of 1.70 to 3.62, a melt index (i2) in the range of 2 at 1000 g/l/min, a molecular weight distribution (mjmj in the range of less than 2.5, and a vinyl unsaturation of less than 0.06 vinyl per thousand carbon atoms present in the backbone of said composition. In accordance with the present invention, the injection molded articles comprise a polyethylene composition comprising (1) less than or equal to 100 weight percent ethylene derived units; and (2) less than 15 percent by weight of units derived from one or more (alpha)olefin comonomers; said polyethylene composition having a density in the range of 0.907 to 0.975 g/cm 3 , a molecular weight distribution (mw/mn) in the range of 1.70 to 3.62, a melt index (i2) in the range from 2 to 1000 g/l minutes, a molecular weight distribution (mz/mn) in the range of less than 2.5, vinyl unsaturation of less than 0.06 vinyl per thousand 10 carbon atoms present in the main chain of said composition. In accordance with the present invention, the process for making an injection molded article comprises the steps of: (a) selecting a polyethylene composition comprising (1) less than or equal to 100 weight percent ethylene derived units; and (2) less than 15 percent by weight of units derived from one or more (alpha) olefin comonomers; wherein the polyethylene composition has a density in the range of 0.907 to 0.975 g/cm3, a molecular weight distribution (mw/mn) in the range of 1.70 to 3.62, a melt index (i2) in the range from 2 to 1000 g/l minutes, a molecular weight distribution (m 2 /mw) in the range of less than 2.5, vinyl unsaturation of less than 0.06 vinyl per thousand carbon atoms present in the backbone of said composition; (b) injection molding said polyethylene composition; and (c) thereby forming said injection molded article
