titleOfInvention process for selective recovery of cyanocomplexes in an ion exchange resin
abstract PROCESS FOR SELECTIVE RECOVERY OF CYANOCOMPLEXES IN AN IONIC EXCHANGE RESIN. The present invention describes a process for the recovery of cyanide and metals from effluents from the mining industry. The invention basically consists of an elution of copper cyanocomplexes of strong base anionic resin with a mixed solution containing [Zn (CN) ~ 4 ~ ^ 2 ^ / MCI ~ n ~ (where M = alkali and alkaline earth metals en = metal group number) The combination of these reagents aimed at the selective elution of copper cyanocomplexes, as well as at reducing the concentration of salt in the eluent solution. The addition of zinc cyanide to the saline solution provided significant gains in selectivity in relation to the exclusively saline solutions, regarding the combination of the saline solution with free cyanide.
