abstract | Continuous Compound Manufacturing Process The present invention is directed to a process of manufacturing amino compounds by hydrogenating nitrile compounds in the presence of a catalyst. The present invention is more particularly directed to a process of manufacturing diamines by continuous hydrogenation of dinitrile compounds in the presence of a raney metal-based catalyst and in the absence of alcoholic solvent. This process comprises emptying a portion of the catalyst present in the reaction medium. The trans-catalyst portion is subjected to a regeneration process to obtain a catalyst with a lower catalytic activity than a higher virgin catalyst. The regenerated catalyst is recycled into the reaction medium together with virgin catalyst for a given ratio. The process of the present invention allows in particular to decrease catalyst consumption per tonne of amine produced. |
