titleOfInvention continuous process to obtain biodiesel
abstract CONTINUOUS BIODIESEL PROCESS, comprised of several tanks. The primer is a stirring and heating tank where the raw material is deposited castor oil, palm oil, sunflower, babassu, peanut, jatropha or soybean, among others. The second is used with reagent, more catalyst methyl or ethyl alcohol and its agitation is promoted. At the outlet of the primary tank a pump sends the raw material through a premixer, passing through a rotameter where the flow rate is measured, while at the outlet of the secondary tank a pump sends the alcohol to the premixer line, which also has a rotameter. After mixing the raw materials are deposited in a tank from which a pump withdraws the mixture and injects it into the tubular reactor, where under high pressure and at a jacket vapor temperature of 110 <198> C, it takes place within 40 seconds. , the reaction by a continuous process at a given flow rate. Then in an evaporation tank, under vacuum and heating, the alcohol is removed in gaseous form and sent to a condenser, which after being condensed is sent to a semi-hydrated alcohol tank. After this operation the glycerol plus 10% soap and the biodiesel (methyl ester) remain in the evaporation tank. This mixture is led to a split decanter, where glycerol separates, leaving the methyl ester with traces of soaps that are removed by brine washing and deposited in a decantation box. The tubular reactor consists of tubes cylindrical elements that internally pack a helicoid that forces the reaction by increasing the pressure of the injected material.
