abstract | The present invention relates to an adhesive formulation comprising: (a) starch; (b) a compound selected from furfuryl, furfural alcohol, methanol, ethanol, propanol, butanol, pentanol, hexanol, glycols, polyols, carboxylic acids, polyvinyl alcohol; and (c) a resin selected from the group consisting of urea formaldehyde resin, melamine formaldehyde resin, melamine urea formaldehyde resin, phenolmelamine urea formaldehyde resin, phenol formaldehyde resin and resorcinol formaldehyde resin . The present invention further relates to a process for formulating the adhesive and its two-component system as well as the use of such formulations in impregnating reinforcing webs and paper; or for the manufacture of OSB, MDF, MDP, chipboard and laminated wood panels; for size and make coatings for coated abrasives; sandpaper; side treatment; grinding wheels; cutting discs; paper; high pressure laminates; heat and <sym> or acoustic insulation panels and shell molding sand. |
