titleOfInvention bacterial cellulose fiber, yarn and ribbon production process and products
abstract More particularly, it is a bacterial cultured cellulose production process (P), wherein said cellulose is produced by the microorganism Acetobacter xylinum, and is directed to develop within a controlled medium, particularly from tubes (T) made up gas-permeable materials of wall thickness and diameter suitable for the type of product (F) to be produced; said process (P) utilizes as an carbon source an anhydrous glucose with no leftover culture medium to be treated at the end of production; process (P) allows the microorganism to be forced to produce cellulose fibrils that form a web directed along the inner wall of the tube (T), forming a resulting product (F) in the form of yarn, filament or tape, diameter and length varying according to the tube that generated it and according to the shape imposed during the fermentation process.
