abstract |
TIRE. Tire comprising: a substantially toroidal carcass structure having opposite side edges terminating in respective bead structures; a belt structure applied at a radially external position with respect to said carcass structure, said belt structure comprising at least one belt layer; a radially overlapping tread on said belt structure; a pair of sides applied laterally on opposite sides with respect to said carcass structure; wherein said at least one strap layer comprises at least one reinforcement cord comprising a core including at least one first elongate member comprising at least one composite material, said composite material including a plurality of elongate fibers embedded in a polymeric material, said core being coated with at least one second elongate member comprising at least one elemental metal wire. Preferably, said tire is a high performance (HiP) or ultra high performance (UHP) tire, or a tire suitable for use in sporting competitions such as track racing. |
