titleOfInvention | ACCUMENTED SMOKE ARTICLES TO RELEASE INCORPORATED ADDITIVES WITHIN MICROFIBERS AND ELECTRORPROVED NANOFIBERS AND RELATED METHODS |
abstract | filter component for a smoking article and method for manufacturing it. The present invention relates to a filter member 83 for a smoke article 81 comprising an electro-spun fiber comprising at least one type of flavoring and / or non-flavoring additive and at least one type of pleximeter. A wide variety of electro-pulled fibers may be produced to encapsulate a wide variety of additives within the sub-compartments or substructures of the manufactured electro-pulled fiber. furthermore, fabricated elongated fibers may be electrostatically disposed within a filter member of a smoke article during the manufacturing process. By modifying the various parameters that control the electro-pulling process, a diverse set of electro-pulling fibers can be manufactured that vary in composition, substructural organization and size. The electro-pulled fiber produced by the electro-pulled comprises at least one type of polymeric material that encapsulates or supports retention of at least one type of a flavoring or non-flavoring within the electro-drawn fiber. A polymeric material provides a support structure for encapsulating at least one type of a flavoring or non-flavoring one. The electro-spun fibers that can be produced by various electro-spun processes described below include microfibers in a microscale range, nanofibers in a nanoscale range, and various microfiber and nanofiber mixtures. |
