abstract APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CONTROLING THE MOVEMENT OF A FLEX BOOM. It is a method and apparatus for regulating the movement of a flexure reinforcer (30) along a flexible tube. The apparatus includes a plug clamp (40) attached to a portion of the hose body and at least one retarding member (44) located on the hose body in a predetermined position relative to the plug clamp. The retarding element is arranged to reduce the thrust of a bending reinforcer as it moves along the body portion of the hose toward the plug clamp.
