abstract <B> DEVICES AND METHODS FOR DETECTING CELLS AND OTHER ANALYTES. <D> The present invention relates to methods and devices, and kits for isolating analytes (for example, a cell). A sample containing the desired analyte is introduced into a microfluidic device containing the fractions that bind to the desired analyte. A shear stress is applied that is large enough to prevent binding of unwanted analytes and low enough to allow binding of the analyte of interest. Once linked, the desired analytes can be analyzed (for example, counted). The present invention further features methods for determining shear stresses for isolating the desired analyte.
