MAGNESIUM HALIDE COMPLEX, PROCESS TO PREPARE THE MAGNESIUM HALIDE COMPLEX, USEFUL CATALYST COMPONENT IN OLEFINIC POLYMERIZATION, CATALYST FOR THE APOLIMERIZATION OF AN OLEPHINE AND PROCESS FOR POLYMERIZING OLEFINS. The invention provides a magnesium halide complex, Reading a composition represented by Formula (1) MgX ~ 2 ~ .mROHnEpH ~ 2 ~ O (1) in which X is chloride, bromide, or a C ~ 1 ~ alkoxy or aryloxy -C ~ 14 ~; R is C ~ 1 ~ -C ~ 12 ~ alkyl, C ~ 3 ~ -C ~ 10 ~ cycloalkyl or C ~ 6 ~ -C ~ 10 ~ aryl; E is dihydrocarbiloxygeminated hydrocarbon represented by Formula (II) in which R ~ 1 ~ and R ~ 2 ~, which are identical or different, are hydrogen or linear or branched C ~ 1 ~ -C ~ 10 ~ alkyl, cycloalkyl C ~ 3 ~ -C ~ 10 ~, C ~ 6 ~ -C ~ 10 ~ aryl, C ~ 7 ~ -C ~ 10 ~ alkylaryl or arylalkyl, said aryl, alkylaryl and arylalkyl being optionally substituted by one or more halogen atoms in the aromatic ring; optionally R ~ 1 ~ and R ~ 2 ~ bond together to form a fused ring or ring system; R ~ 3 ~ and R ~ 4 ~ have the same meanings defined for R ~ 1 ~ and R ~ 2 ~ other than hydrogen; m is in the range of 1 to 5; n is in the range of 0.005 to 1.0; and p is in the range of 0 to 0.8.
