abstract | ROPINIROL CHLORIDE PROCESS FOR PURIFICATION. Where the present invention provides an improved process for the purification of Ropinirol hydrochloride of formula (Ia) comprising the steps of: (i) treating Ropinirol hydrochloride with sodium dithionate and charcoal in a suitable alcoholic solvent; (ii) trituring the Ropinirol hydrochloride obtained in step (i) with ethanol; (iii) reacting the ground solid with a base in a water immiscible solvent and isolating the free base; treating the free base obtained in step (iii) with ethanolic HCl to give Ropinirol hydrochloride. |
