IN VITRO METHODS FOR DETECTION OF MYCOBACTERIUM TUBERCULOSIS AND T-CELLS EXPRESSING CD8 THAT SPECIFICALLY RECOGNIZE SEQ ID NO: 11 IN AN INDIVIDUAL |
abstract |
methods for detecting a mycobacterium tuberculosis infection. The present invention relates to methods for detecting an infection with mycobacterium tuberculosis (mtb) in an individual which are described. The methods include detecting the presence of tcd8 + cells that specifically recognize mtb polypeptide. The methods include in vivo assays for the presence of cd8 + t cells in a biological sample, and in vivo assays for a delayed type hypersensitivity reaction. The methods may also include detection of mtb polypeptides and polynucleotides. reagents for detecting an mtb infection are also described. |
