abstract | CYANACRYLATE MONAMER PRODUCTION PROCESS. The present invention relates to a process for the production of cyanoacrylate monomer, comprising the steps of (a) carrying out the reaction of cyanoacetate and formaldehyde or paraformaldehyde in the presence of base or amine-based catalyst to form a pre- polymer or mixture of? -cyanoacrylate oligomers; (b) subjecting the <244> -cyanoacrylate prepolymer or oligomer mixture to contact with a substrate containing free acid, free acid derivative or free aldehyde or ketone groups to remove the catalyst and obtain a <prepolymer or oligomer of < 244> purified cyanoacrylate; and (c) subjecting the purified <244> cyanoacrylate prepolymer or oligomer to depolymerization to obtain a <244> -cyanoacrylate monomer. |
