sensor head system and needle positioning and pressure data acquisition system |
abstract |
system and method for determining the positioning of an implanted device and obtaining pressure data. The present invention relates to a sensor head comprising a plurality of bobbins and a needle window. The sensor head is capable of being operated to receive RF signals communicated from a needle target such as an injection port located within the patient. The user interface is configured to visually display an indication to the user regarding the positioning and orientation of the sensor head relative to the needle target. positioning and orientation can be determined based on the RF signals received by the coils in the sensor head. With the sensor head positioned based on the information provided through the visual screen, the user can insert the needle through the needle window to reach the needle target. The sensor head may also receive fluid pressure communications in the implanted device. The user interface may additionally display information regarding fluid pressure in the implanted device. |
