PROCESS FOR THE BIOLOGICAL PRODUCTION OF 1,3-PROPANODIOL FROM GLYCEROL WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE. The present invention provides a method for the anaerobic production of 1,3-propanediol by culturing a Clostridium strain in an appropriate culture medium comprising glycerol as a carbon source, wherein said Clostridi one strain does not substantially produce other glycerol metabolism products selected from the group consisting of: butyrate, lactate, butanol and ethanol and 1,3-propanediol recovery. |
