titleOfInvention | high efficiency water-in-oil emulsion with sunscreen |
abstract | OIL WATER EMULSION WITH HIGH EFFICIENCY SOLAR FILTER. The present invention relates to highly stable water-in-oil sunscreen emulsions that provide a high sunscreen efficiency (EFS) having a sunscreen factor (SPF) of X, where X is at least 15, and has an efficiency of sunscreen (EFS) of at least 2, preferably at least 3, where EFS is the ratio between SPF and the total percentage weight of sunscreen assets to the total weight of the composition. The emulsions of the present invention provide photoprotection for the SPF-labeled period during the period of exposure to natural sunlight and are composed of (i) at least one sunscreen active and (ii) an alkyl copolyol dimethicone emulsifier in which the groups Water-soluble, alkyl-soluble and silicone-soluble dimethicone copoliol have the specific ratios. Preferably, the high EPS water-in-oil emulsion is composed of a UV-A sunscreen and a UV-B sunscreen. More preferably, the combination of sunscreen assets is photostable. |
