TESTING METHODS FOR EVALUATING THE PERFORMANCE OF A CATALYST'S PRIVATE AND AGING CATALYLERS One method for testing the performance of catalysts used for gas conversion of an FCC regenerator comprises subjecting the catalyst simultaneously to a mixture of gases including an oxidizing gas and a reducing gas in more than one cycle where the ratio of oxidizing gas to reducing gas varies over the cycle time. Test gases comprising O ~ 2 ~, CO, CO ~ 2 ~, steam, nitrogen-containing gases and sulfur-containing gases wherein the ratio of O ~ 2 ~ to CO varies over time for each cycle and where the products of The combustion formed during each cycle can be measured periodically during the cycle providing important data on the usefulness of catalysts for treating regenerator waste gas. |
