titleOfInvention process for preparing dioxolane
abstract PROCESS TO PREPARE DIOXOLAN. A process for producing dioxolane by reacting ethylene glycol (1) with formaldehyde in aqueous solution (2) in the present catalyst is disclosed. Said process is characterized in that the reaction is performed in a reactive distillation column (RDK). The ethylene glycol (1) and aqueous formaldehyde (2) extracts are fed to the reactive distillation column (RDK) in its central zone, and a dioxolane-containing stream (3) is withdrawn from the top zone of the reactive distillation column ( RDK) while a bottom stream (4) containing purchased high boiling components such as dioxolane is withdrawn.
