titleOfInvention uses of prostacyclin analogs
abstract USES OF PROSTACYCLINE ANALOGS. Where the present invention provides a method for reducing the risk of developing cancer in a subject. This method is particularly useful in a subject who has a higher risk factor for developing cancer compared to a person who does not have a similar risk factor. The method encompasses the therapeutic administration of an effective amount of prostacyclin analogs to the subject. In this way, a variety of cancers including, but not limited to, lung, liver, brain, pancreatic, kidney, prostate, breast, bladder, ovarian and head colon can be prevented. Typically, at least about 10 percent is reduced from the risk of developing cancer in the subject who has a high risk factor. Another aspect of the present invention provides a method for reducing the risk of developing advanced premalignant dysphasia in a subject.
