titleOfInvention | methods of analyzing a sample for the presence or absence of a sample organism of interest |
abstract | METHODS OF ANALYSIS OF A SAMPLE FOR THE DETECTION OF THE PRESENCE OR ABSENCE OF A SAMPLE ORGANIZATION OF INTEREST. The present invention relates to a method for analyzing a sample for detecting the presence or absence of an organism of interest in the sample comprising: (a) obtaining the sample; (b) subjecting the sample to a rupture treatment sufficient to fractionate any nucleic acid sequences present in the sample; and (c) detecting for the presence or absence of an organism of interest in the sample. Detection step (c) may comprise performing primer-directed amplification (preferably the polymerase chain reaction) in the sample to produce an amplification result and analyzing the amplification result for an amplification product, wherein the The presence or absence of the amplification product is indicative of the presence or absence of the organism of interest in the sample. |
