abstract | MIXTURE OF DISTILLED FUEL, AND, PROCESS TO MANUFACTURE THE SAME. A distilled fuel composition having low defoaming characteristics and a process for making the composition is described. The composition and process use Fischer-Tropsch distillates to reduce foaming in distillate fuels. The use of Fischer-Tropsch distillates to control defoaming in distillate fuels reduces or eliminates the need to use silicon defoaming agents. A preferred composition comprises at least 20 vol%. a petroleum-based distillate having a foam disappearance time greater than 20 seconds; and at least 5% by vol. a Fischer-Tropsch-derived distillate having a lesser foam disappearing time than 15 seconds; where the resulting distilled fuel mixture has a foam disappearance time of 15 seconds or less in the absence of an anti-foam additive. |
