abstract | Transdermal Method and Adhesive for Nausea. The present invention relates, among other things, to a method of acute, delayed or preventive treatment of emesis for a prolonged period in an individual, involving the application to a subject's intact skin portion of a composition comprising: . an antiemetically effective amount of a 5-HT 3 receptor antagonist; ii. a permeation enhancer permeation enhancing amount comprising 0.5% to 15% by weight of the skin contact layer; and iii. an adhesive in which a plasma concentration of the 5-HT 3 receptor antagonist is provided within a therapeutically effective range over a period of time from an initial time to 12 hours or more after the composition is removed. |
