titleOfInvention method for the production of high purity silicon
abstract METHOD FOR PRODUCING HIGH PURITY SILENCE. The present invention relates to a method for producing a large amount of economical high purity silicon useful in a solar battery. A method for producing high purity silicon by migrating impurities in molten silicon to slag is described including the step of feeding an oxidizing agent to molten silicon along with slag, wherein the oxidizing agent is a material comprising as a Primary component at least one of the following materials: alkali metal carbonate, alkali metal carbonate hydrate, alkali metal hydroxide, alkaline earth carbonate, alkaline earth carbonate hydrate or alkaline earth hydroxide.
