COMPOSITION OF PERFUME, AND, CONSUMER PRODUCT. Perfume compositions comprise at least 50% by weight of ingredients characterized in that (i) they have a molecular formula having from 8 to 13 carbon atoms, none of which form part of substituted or unsubstituted phenyl moieties; (ii) an octanol / water separation coefficient (logP) of at least 2; (iii) a saturated vapor pressure (SVP) of at least 0.665 x 10 -3 -3 kPa at 25 ° C; and (iv) belong to one of the following groups: 1) ethers of the general formula R 1 - 0 R 2 -; 2) aldehydes or nitriles R 1 - X, where X is a formyl group or a cyano group; 3) esters R 1 ~ CO2 R 2 ~; 4) R 1 -OH alcohols; 5) ketones R 1 ~ COR 2 ~; where R1 and R2 are hydrocarbon, straight or branched chain radicals, and optionally substituted, and may be attached as part of a ring structure. The compositions find a particular application in the form of encapsulates for use in consumer products. |
