titleOfInvention method of subcritically producing xerogels and monolithic hybrids of silica and latex modified with alkxysilane groups and their use
abstract METHOD OF SUECRICALLY PRODUCTION OF XEROGELS AND HYBRID MONOLYTIC AIRCRAILS OF SILICA AND MODIFIED LATEX WITH ALCOXISSILAN GROUPS AND THEIR USE. A method of subcritical production of silica / latex hybrid monolithic xerogels and aerogels is described. Hybrid alkogels are synthesized in two steps with acid / basic catalysis of hydrolysis / polycondensation reactions of an excess water silicon alkoxide in an organic medium. A polybutyl methacrylate / polybutyl acrylate latex, modified with alkoxysilane groups, is synthesized and incorporated into the mixture either in the first step for co-hydrolysis with silicon alkoxide or in the second for co-condensation with pre-colloidal silica. hydrolyzed. The alcogels are aged, washed and dried under subcritical conditions. Hybrids containing 0.1 to 50% by mass of latex are obtained, with densities between 300 and 1300 kg.m3, porosities between 40 and 852-, surface areas between 400 and 900 m2g 'and average pore diameters between 2 and 12. nm. The materials are stable to atmospheric humidity, have improved mechanical properties compared to inorganic ones.
