titleOfInvention hydrogel processing
abstract "HYDROGEL PROCESSING". The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for moisturizing ophthalmic lenses and excess leaching of ophthalmic lens materials. The method includes the steps of exposing contact lenses with a hydration solution comprising about 30 to 70% isopropyl alcohol and water. In some embodiments, the hydration solution is kept at a high temperature. Exposure to a first hydration solution causes ophthalmic lenses to swell to a size larger than its functional size, and exposure to a second ophthalmic solution causes the lens to shrink back to its functional size.
