abstract | coloring compositions. The coloring compositions are useful for a wide variety of product applications. for example, dyes are used in polymer dyeing, providing color to the aqueous solution (s), and providing color to solid or semi-solid products such as detergents. Coloring compositions having a triphenylmethane ("tpm") derived structure having improved stability under alkaline conditions are described herein. Thus, the coloring compositions resist discoloration even at relatively high pH. The coloring compositions of the invention are useful when applied to polyolefins, such as polypropylene and polyethylene, as examples.
