titleOfInvention biocompatible polymeric compositions for use in preparing posterior chamber intraocular lenses
abstract BIOCOMPATIBLE POLYMERIC COMPOSITIONS FOR USE IN PREPARATION OF INTRACULAR LENS IN THE REAR CAMERA. The present invention relates to biocompatible polymers useful for the preparation of intraocular lenses. Biocompatible polymers are generally composed of one or more acrylate monomers crosslinked with at least one diacrylate ester and may include one or more additional components, such as ultraviolet light and / or blue-violet light absorbing dyes. Posterior chamber IOLs made using the biocompatible polymers described herein are suitable for placement in phakic or aphakic eyes and are intended for refractive correction, including myopia, hyperopia, presbyopia, astigmatism, and post-implantation. removing the lens from the natural lens as warranted by medical conditions such as cataracts.
