titleOfInvention | methods of fracturing a part of an underground formation |
abstract | Methods of Fracturing a Part of an Underground Formation, Compacting and Fracturing an Underground Formation, and Reducing a Surface Pressure Required to Create One or More Fractures in a Part of an Underground Formation The present invention relates to methods for treating formations. underground. In one embodiment, the present invention provides a method of fracturing a portion of an underground formation comprising providing a viscous treatment fluid comprising a single salt aqueous fluid having a density greater than 9 pounds per gallon (1.08 kg (l) is a cross-linked viscous agent, and contacting the underground formation portion with a viscous treatment fluid to create or intensify one or more fractures in that particular, wherein the viscous treatment fluid is introduced into a wellbore. which penetrates the part of the underground formation to be fractured at a surface pressure of less than about 25,000 pounds per square inch (172.4 mpa). In other embodiments, the present invention provides methods of compacting and fracturing an underground formation and methods of reducing a surface pressure required to create one or more fractures in a portion of an underground formation. |
