abstract |
HYDROXIAPATITA CALCIUM Phosphates, their method of preparation and their applications. The present invention relates to granular calcium phosphates having a characteristic x-ray diffraction pattern of hydroxyapatite, in which a portion of the crystalline lattice anions is replaced by carbonate anions, and which have good compressibility and flow properties. in direct compression applications. The invention also relates to methods for preparing the aforementioned calcium phosphate granules, distinguished by the fact that the methods include processing a brushitic dicalcium phosphate solution having a specified particle size distribution using a solution of a alkaline earth metal carbonate for a period of time sufficient to allow the transformation of brushitic calcium phosphate into hydroxyapatitic calcium phosphate. |
