abstract METHOD FOR EFFICIENTLY PRODUCING AROMATIC POLYCARBONATE AND AROMATIC POLYCARBONATE PRODUCED BY SUCH METHOD. It is an object of the present invention to provide a method for producing a high quality, high performance aromatic polycarbonate (which is colorless and has excellent mechanical properties) from a fused aromatic polycarbonate prepolymer obtained from of a compound of aromatic dihydroxyl and diaryl carbonate, wherein the polycarbonate can be stably produced on a commercial scale at 1 to 50 t / hr for a long time without requiring a large amount of an inert gas. In the present invention, this objective has been achieved by a method for producing an aromatic polycarbonate by the melt transesterification process, wherein the prepolymer is made to absorb a specific amount of an inert gas, followed by polymerization using a guide fall wetting polymerizing device having a specific structure whereby a high quality, high performance aromatic polycarbonate as mentioned above can be stably produced on a commercial scale at 1 to 50 t / hr for a long time (greater than several thousand hours, for example over 5,000 hours) without fluctuating the molecular weight thereof.
