abstract USE OF ULVANAS AS ELICITORS OF NITROGEN ABSORPTION MECHANISMS AND PROTEIN SYNTHESIS. The present invention relates to the use of ulvans, particularly green algal extracts of the genus Ulva or Enteromorpha, or the ulvana-derived oligosaccharide as elicitors of nitrogen absorption mechanisms and protein synthesis. It also refers to a fertilizer product containing the ulvanas and their use in a method of treating plants.
