titleOfInvention tellurium containing tellurium derivatives (iv) and use of tellurium derivatives (iv) in the preparation of said biocides
abstract BIOCIDE CONTAINING TELURIUM DERIVATIVES AND USE OF TELURIUM DERIVATIVES IN THE PREPARATION OF BIOCIDES Said The present invention relates to biocides comprising at least one tellurium (IV) derivative. The present invention further relates to the use of tellurium (IV) derived chemical compounds for the preparation of biocide for finished products and industrial processes. We have synthesized classes of tellurium (IV) derivatives that showed strong biocidal activity. Tellurium (IV) RT3 compound showed bactericidal, fungicidal, yeasticidal and algicidal activity. Tellurium (IV) compounds have been shown to be efficient chemical modifiers of molecules that have thiolate clusters, such as protein cysteine amino acid residues, glutathione, thyrodoxine and CoaA-SH. The results reported here show a new class of biocides, with broad and potent antimicrobial activities, which constitute a new application claimed in this document of tellurium (IV) derived compounds as biocides for finished products and industrial processes.
