titleOfInvention supported semiconductor floating photocatalysts for water decontamination
abstract FLOATING DECONTAMINATION-BASED FLOATING SEMICONDUCTOR PHOTOCATALIZERS The present invention comprises the use of floating semiconductor-based photocatalysts supported on a water-floating base material for decontamination processes. The base material used may be of polymeric or natural origin, which have low cost, good technical, chemical and mechanical stability. The innovative aspect of the present invention is the use of photocatalysts that are capable of floating in water and efficiently using solar radiation to destroy organic contaminants in water. These materials can be easily transported and applied directly to any contaminated aquatic environment. These floating photocatalysts can be used to remediate aqueous effluents and aquatic environments such as non-limiting lakes and reservoirs contaminated with organic compounds, wastewater discharges tanks with high organic load, to itemize the photo-oxidation process of spilled oils at sea, dams and rivers, not limiting. After use, these floating photocatalysts can be easily recovered and reused.
