The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of solidified maltitol. Solidified maltitol is prepared by turbulence of a gas maltitol powder and contact of the same common maltitol-containing syrup where the amount of the powder is <242> the amount of syrup. Solidified maltitol has superior properties in bakery products. It is also suitable in other food products such as confectionery, chewing gum toppings and tablets.
